1. Scope of the Service
ExtraCar provides diagnostic testing and assessment services for high-voltage batteries of compatible battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).
The inspection is carried out using specialised diagnostic hardware and software and is based on vehicle data available at the time of testing.
Depending on the vehicle and the available data, the results may include information such as:
battery State of Health (SoH);
data from the Battery Management System (BMS);
measured voltage, temperature and related parameters;
battery usage and performance analysis;
battery energy content;
charging characteristics;
estimated driving range;
other parameters available for the specific vehicle.
Not all parameters are available for every vehicle.
2. Service Requests
Submitting a form through the website constitutes a request for contact and service and does not by itself create a confirmed appointment.
After receiving the request, ExtraCar may contact the customer to confirm:
the vehicle and its compatibility;
the location of the inspection;
the preferred date and time;
the applicable price;
any other relevant details.
The service is considered arranged once the relevant details have been confirmed between ExtraCar and the customer.
3. Vehicle Compatibility
The ability to perform specific tests and retrieve particular data depends on the vehicle make, model, year, software version, electronic systems and the diagnostic access permitted by the manufacturer.
ExtraCar does not guarantee that every vehicle will provide all parameters shown in sample reports or examples published on the website.
Where necessary, the customer may be asked to provide the VIN or other vehicle details in advance so that compatibility can be assessed.
4. Customer Responsibilities
The customer must provide accurate information about the vehicle and provide reasonable access to the vehicle where required for the inspection.
If the customer is not the owner of the vehicle, the customer is responsible for ensuring that they have the owner's permission or another lawful basis to present the vehicle for diagnostic testing.
The customer should inform ExtraCar of any known technical issue or circumstance that may affect the safe or proper performance of the test.
5. Battery Health Report
Following a successfully completed inspection, the customer may receive a Battery Health Report generated using BatScan by VoltSight AI technology.
The report reflects the condition and available vehicle data at the time of the test.
The report may include both calculated indicators generated by BatScan and data obtained directly from the vehicle systems where such data is available.
BatScan Calculated SoH is an algorithmically calculated assessment based on available vehicle data and should not be treated as identical to OEM BMS SoH where the vehicle provides a separate OEM BMS SoH value.
6. Limitations of the Diagnostic Assessment
The EV Battery Check and Battery Health Report are provided for diagnostic and informational purposes.
The results do not constitute:
a guarantee of the future condition or remaining life of the battery;
a guarantee of future driving range or performance;
a guarantee that the battery is free from hidden or future defects;
a valuation of the vehicle;
a complete technical inspection of the entire vehicle;
a substitute for repair or diagnosis by an authorised workshop where such service is required.
Battery condition and reported values may be affected by multiple factors, including temperature, state of charge, previous use, charging habits, vehicle software and other operating conditions.
The test results must therefore be understood as an assessment based on the information available at the specific time of testing.
7. Vehicle Purchase and Sale Decisions
The customer remains solely responsible for any decision to purchase, sell or continue using a particular vehicle.
ExtraCar recommends using the Battery Health Report as one part of a broader vehicle assessment, together with an appropriate technical inspection, service history review, provenance checks and any other relevant due diligence.
ExtraCar is not responsible for commercial decisions made solely on the basis of the Battery Health Report, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Prices and Payment
The price of the service will be displayed on the website or confirmed with the customer before the inspection is carried out.
Where the customer is a consumer, the price communicated to the customer will be the final applicable price including relevant taxes where required by law.
The payment method will be agreed when the service is confirmed.
An invoice or other accounting document may be issued where applicable.
9. Rescheduling and Cancellation
Customers may request to reschedule or cancel an agreed appointment by contacting ExtraCar.
ExtraCar may also propose a change of appointment in the event of a technical issue, unsuitable testing conditions, vehicle compatibility issues or another objective reason.
If a late-cancellation or no-show fee is introduced in the future, it will be communicated to and agreed with the customer in advance.
10. Right of Withdrawal for Distance Contracts
Where the customer is a consumer and the service contract is concluded at a distance, the customer may have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal, subject to the exceptions and conditions provided by applicable law.
If the customer expressly requests that the service begins before the expiry of the withdrawal period, the service may be performed during that period.
Where the service has been fully performed following the customer's express request and acknowledgement, the right of withdrawal may no longer apply in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Where the customer withdraws after performance has begun but before the service has been fully completed, the customer may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already provided.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights under Bulgarian or European Union law.
11. Liability
ExtraCar will exercise reasonable professional care when performing the service and presenting the available results.
ExtraCar is not responsible for inaccuracies or limitations arising from:
data provided by the vehicle itself;
restrictions imposed by the vehicle manufacturer or diagnostic interface;
vehicle software changes;
incomplete or incorrect information provided by the customer;
technical circumstances beyond ExtraCar's reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Intellectual Property
The content of extracarr.com, including text, visual elements, design and ExtraCar brand materials, is protected by applicable intellectual property law.
Third-party trademarks, software, reports and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
The customer may use the Battery Health Report for lawful personal or commercial purposes, including in connection with the purchase or sale of the relevant vehicle, provided that the report is not altered in a way that could create a misleading impression.
13. Personal Data
Personal data is processed in accordance with the ExtraCar Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
